I"ll kick off this post with some pictures of our sad little house. With its dim colors and closed in spaces this baby was dying for a face lift. There are many spaces in need of a update such as kitchens, bathrooms, floors, and paint but we started by first taking out the interior walls and opening this baby up. If you have the ability to do so and have made certain that you are not taking out a load baring wall, this will make a HUGE impact on your space, the flow of your home, and the ability for light to pass freely through. This will give you such an illusion of space when space may not be very abundant. See our before and after pictures and please feel free to comment and let us know what you think or if you have done something similar. For the record, this is just the beginning of a very long journey so there won't be much that you see in these photos that will stay the same so make sure you stay tuned. Happy renovating.

The road less traveled begins our amazing journey
So, this is my first post. It's quite amazing that I've actually gotten this far since I've been DYING to blog for a very long time, but never seemed to have make the time to do so. My purpose and goal is to learn, teach and log our house adventures as we gracefully go from 5,300sf down to a respective 2,400sf (after we do the "big" addition which you will see down the road. If we want to be precise for the moment we really only have 1,900sf currently). We went from brand new construction and what we thought was our dream home to selling that house and feeling like we were starting all over. The funny thing about this though is that we feel more excited now then we have in such a long time since we have our little home that we can mold and shape into our new dream home. Even though we are working with a limited budget, we are very fortunate to have a home that we can call our own. I'm afraid that so many who have been in our shoes cannot say the same. You see, we are making lemonade out of the lemons that life handed to us and we are loving the journey.
