About Me

Whitney is the principal designer and owner of Whitney Perez Interiors, Inc  based out of Miami, FL.

She started this blog as an outlet for her own trials through downsizing from a 5,300SF house to a 2,400 SF house. Whitney not only designs great spaces, but she has lived through that process personally and knows all about the growing pains of construction, and the joys of seeing a house transform to your home where you live, love and create joy in your life.

Whitney has always had a knack for design from as far back as she can remember, a trait most likely passed down from her own mother’s love of design. Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah with the basics and a decent life, there was always room to do something yourself or to make something look high end on a shoe string budget. This talent has afforded Whitney the ability to mix in “high and low” to her work while making it look seamlessly divine. After attending school in her home town of Utah Whitney moved to San Francisco, CA perusing her successful career in business management which she continued to do when she again relocated to her now home of Miami, FL.

As a turn of events in the Florida job market would have it she was invited to work with a small interior design firm in Florida through a close friend and designer. This was a dream come true and was a welcome a breath of fresh air.  As Whitney says, “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life (or at least it won’t feel that way most days!)” She worked with this firm since 2010 and gained invaluable experience in the industry working on numerous projects throughout Miami with top design professionals as well as on a television show for HGTV, Weekends with Luis which was filmed locally in Florida. Whitney eventually opened her own firm Whitney Perez Interiors, Inc in 2012 and has had a thriving career in design ever since.

With Whitney’s love of the arts, travel, food, fashion and design she brings a sense of updated modernism to her spaces while keeping them warm and livable. She has a knack for finding those truly statement pieces that become an amazing focal point to any room while exercising restraint so that it feels like the timeless place that has an effortless cool about it. Many a client has fallen in love with that off the norm accent that they weren’t so sure about and now find that they adore. As Whitney says, “You hire me to bring something to the table that you can’t do on your own. That is what design is all about, thinking outside the box a little to shock the senses into something really amazing and yet totally livable at the same time.”

When Whitney isn’t pouring her heart out in to her designs she can be found with her amazing husband Robert and 2 beautiful daughters Amanda and Isabella. With family in Utah you will find them boating in Miami during the lazy summers and skiing the powder slopes of Park City in the winter. You will also find her shopping, working out tirelessly, eating, consuming great wines, enjoying her friends and family and redoing her house AGAIN room by room. Oh, and you might catch a cruise ship karaoke solo from time to time.
