Remodeling The Facade Of Our House

As many of you can see from many of my amateur photos, we have a dirty little secret and that would be the outside of our house. As I said before, our inside is only half the battle. We are still in full blown remodel mode and will start pouring concrete on Tuesday for our garage addition which will be our master en suite and laundry room. We are working with what we've got and this will give us the extra space that we desperately need.

Here is a peak at the outside of our home. Very mustard yellow with those Spanish roof tiles.  So not sexy!

When you see my pictures and you see out our windows, clearly something is a bit off. The plan here will be to paint the entire house a cream/white and the under part of the roof in a rich espresso brown which will give us a more Spanish style look and will make those roof tiles sing. The garage will be blocked in, windows added and a circular driveway installed. Once finished with very clean minimal landscaping we should have ourselves a beauty from the inside out.

The main goal is to make this look like a home and not a home with a converted garage as its first impression.

We hope to have a little something like this:
I am talking about the color and modern simplicity here. It was my husbands idea to remove any decorative trim from our house, and we will very possibly do a driveway in this style. I think it's all about working with what you've got even if that means taking a builders model and putting your own touches on it like we are. I'd love to hear from you if you've ever done an addition or gone through the remodeling process and have any tips for me~

  2. It is vital that in every home remodeling project, there should be a consultation between the home owner, your home redesigning contractor and his job site supervisor, the architect or designer, any other construction members who will be working together with your home remodeling project.
